EW chats to Diala Makki, Dubai’s premier TV Presenter and girl-about-town to discover her pre-party beauty tricks.
I love Dubai …

It inspires me. I admire it’s cosmopolitan nature and it’s close to home.

Beauty icons?

Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Fonda. Nowadays, I admit that Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo are firm favourites of mine.

What’s your beauty regime before a night out?

If my hair looks good I don’t have anything else to worry about. Usually, it’s good hair, nice shoes and then I work around the rest.

What items are always in your make-up bag?

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealor No.3 (Dhs118), Faux Lash Mascara (Dhs95) and Vaseline (Dhs8) is my antidote for dry lips.

What beauty items take pride of place on your dressing table?
Bio Oil (Dhs100) is great for dehydrated skin, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. I just adore my Crème de la Mer range of creams.

Top tip to long-lasting make-up…

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance (Dhs127). Not only will your make-up stay put, you will look as radiant and glowing as when you first applied it.

My S.O.S skincare product is…

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate (Dhs315).

My all-time favourite lipstick is…

Laura Mercier Nude Lips (Dhs102).

My go-to nail varnish shade is…
Dior Vernis in Grege No.413 (Dhs121).

For facials I go to…
Bloomingdale’s dedicated beauty rooms. I love the 30 minute Expert Touch facial. They’re perfect for a quick pick-me-up in between shopping and work!

My look is…

Simple, classic and sensual.

My preferred make-up look…

Is simple. When I’m not in the studio or interviewing celebrities I tend not to wear much make-up. At night I do love feline liner and false lashes.

Best beauty advice…

Never try to be or look like someone else. It’s your imperfections that make you distinct and unique. My incredible mother told me that – she’s my mentor.
