Marking 20th anniversary
The Rack by Kachins store, situated in Al Wasl Dubai, will be hosting the new collection by Indian designer, Payal Singhal, including a meet and greet.
Singhal needs no introduction. She started her label in 1999 when she was just 22 years old and hasn’t stopped since. A departure from norms and merging nostalgia with nouveau, her every collection is aimed at the confident, free-spirited and modern women, who is always in touch with her roots.
As an ode to completing two decades in the industry, she has launched her exclusive Fall 2019 collection. She worked extensively with georgette and organza to create soft, structured looks – think jacket cholis, lehenga salwars, bomber jackets and deconstructed blazers alongside signatures such as drop crotch pants, cropped skirts, saris and co-ordinated sets. The collection also marks the debut of accessories with a line of totes, pouches, belts bags and wristlets.
“I’ve gone back to my real passion of pushing the envelope with freewheeling creations with this line. Since it celebrates 20 years of my brand, I decided to forgo all the formulas and take risks. Design is the hero of the collection.”
The neutral base of chalky whites and ecru is soaked in a palette of pastels like periwinkle blue, pale rose, and blacks. And she doesn’t stop there. There is a bold use of colours extended to the embroideries too – a mix of thread work, cutwork jaalis, leather embroidery, frayed tassels, appliqué and patchwork to create 3D textures.
Each piece is designed to be worn separately, leaving you a host of unique mix and match options. So whether you are a bride, planning a black-tie soiree in Jaipur, a beach party in Ibiza, a music festival in Nevada or a destination wedding in Mexico – your search for the right attire can stop right here.
The Rack by Katchins is a popular local fashion destination. Spread over a luxurious 8,000 square-foot area, this gorgeous villa-boutique in Al Wasl, Dubai showcases some of the most prominent names in the fashion industry.
