Presenting at The 95th Academy Awards for the first time, actor Deepika Padukone walked the champagne carpet in classic Hollywood inspired Louis Vuitton look.

The Pathaan actor took the stage to announce the performance of RRR’s Naatu Naatu while mentioning its nomination in the Orginal Song category. “It’s earned millions of views on Youtube and Tik Tok. Has audiences dancing in movie theatres all around the world and is also the first song ever from Indian production to be nominated for an Oscar. Do you know Naatu? Because if you don’t you’re about to. From the film RRR this is Naatu Naatu,” she added. The enthralling performance by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava and a group of dancers then recieved a standing ovation by the audience. Later in the night, Composer M. M. Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose won the Oscar trophy for the same song, making it the first song from an Indian film to win in this category.
Talking to an interviewer on the carpet, the Bollywood star shared her excitement for the night, “I mean, we’ve all grown up watching the Oscars. From the part of the world that we come from, it’s not every day that you wake up going to the Oscars. I’m just taking it all in.”

Becoming the third Indian actor to recieve the honour of presenting at the Oscars, Deepika added yet another historical moment to her already illustrious career. In order to make a statement at Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, Deepika adorned the two brands she globally represents. Keeping it chic-yet-head-turning, the Piku actor wore a form-flattering, solid velvet ensemble with off-shoulder details and velvet gloves that further accentuated the look. Complementing her all-black attire was a shiny Cartier necklace with a teardrop-shaped yellow diamond, along with icy bracelets and rings to polish off the look.

Everything Everywhere All at Once sweeped 7 awards including best picture, best actress, best director, best editing, best supporting actor, best supporting actress and best original screenplay. Michelle Yeoh won best actress, making her the first Asian star to take the award.
