Cristiano Ronaldo and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have announced the heartbreaking news that one of their newborn twins has died.
In a statement shared with Ronaldo’s 415 million Instagram followers, the couple revealed that one of their twins, a baby boy, passed away.
“It is with deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away,” their joint statement began. “It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.”
The couple then went on to confirm they had welcomed a baby girl.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” they said.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.”
The pair signed off the statement saying, “Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez share a four-year-old daughter Alana Martina. The footballer also has three other children Cristiano Jr. and twins Eva and Mateo.
