The cost of COVID-19 PCR tests have been drastically reduced in the UAE.

It was announced by the Ministry of Health and Prevention on Monday that PCR tests across the country would now be capped at just Dhs50. Clinics are not permitted to charge more than that amount.

Moreover, results must be delivered in no less than 24 hours.

Per the statement by the Ministry this charge applies to “all medical facilities at the state level”.

This change is effective as of Tuesday, August 31, across all emirates.

Prior to this update, the cost of PCR tests in Dubai were Dhs150 and Dhs65 in Abu Dhabi.

As the UAE continues to win the battle against COVID-19, reducing the costs of PCR tests ensures they are accessible to everyone, upholding the health and wellbeing of the public.
