After it was announced at the end of last week plans were being put in place to reopen malls in Dubai, and now Dubai Mall, has confirmed when it will be reopening.
The largest mall in the UAE will partially reopen its doors on Tuesday, April 28 between the hours of 12pm to 10pm, it was announced on Friday.
“The health and safety of our customers, employees and tenants remains our top priority,” a statement from the mall said. “At this time, we are undertaking extensive preparations in order to be able to safely re-open and welcome you back from the 28th April, between 12 noon and 10pm.”
Meanwhile Mall of the Emirates has already reopened partially with the operating hours of 12pm to 10pm, but facilities like cinemas and Ski Dubai still remain closed. Valet parking is also not available, nor are changing rooms or prayer rooms
As it was announced last week, there will be rules in place for shoppers to adhere by in order to protect public health.
Shoppers will only be allowed to visit malls for a maximum of three hour and must wear a mask. Mall-goers will also be required to go through health checks at the entrances upon arriving. Similarly, social distancing practices will also need to be adhered to. People must keep a two metre distance between others at all times, including when at check out desks.
Age limits will also apply for entry to malls. Children from ages three to 12 and those over 60 will not be permitted to enter malls, and shopping centres will only be able to operate a maximum of 30 per cent capacity.
