Emirates Woman delves inside the wardrobes and homes of the region’s most respected trendsetters and tastemakers. Today we enter PR extraordinaire, Sophie Toh’s abode…

If you don’t know who Sophie Toh is, you’ve clearly been living under a rock for quite some time. Head of the TOH public relations empire, this chic lady knows a thing or two about making an impression. Attending the most fabulous events in town, she graces best-dressed and power lists like they are going out of fashion. “I think my style has evolved to represent my role and reflects what I do for a living.” This is certainly true and driving up to her stunning villa in Desert Palm, it appears that her abode doesn’t fair much differently.

Light, bright and airy, her home wouldn’t look out of place if it had a LA postcode. Courtyards with running water and lush greenery give an organic feel throughout, especially with the living room offering a stunning view of a polo field. Continuing the equestrian trend indoors, there are Ralph Lauren pillows and sumptuous cream rugs thrown neatly over couches, while shelves filled with burning Diptyque candles and silver framed photos offer a cosy feel.

On entering her walk in-wardrobe it’s clear Sophie means business. Lines of Louboutins and Jimmy Choos instantly catch our attention – we can’t help but be drawn to some serious statement designer pieces. It’s obvious that Sophie is all about quality over quantity, a philosophy we can’t help agree with after being amazed by her impressive collection.

My Style: “As I run a PR agency, I need to look strong and assured – it’s my name above the door. Regular visits to LA, New York, Hong Kong, Qatar and London has injected some variation into my shopping habits and given me a fresh perspective on how to put a look together.”

My Beauty Secret: “I’ve recently completed a juice cleanse and try and keep up with personal training every morning. I’m really into skincare and spend hours on beauty blogs. My favourite brands have got to be Nars, Chanel and Tom Ford.”

Bargain Hunter: “As I get older I shop less, but buy bigger items. I find that shopping   in the sales generally means I buy stuff that I don’t need.”

Style Icons: “I think Olivia Palermo always looks amazing. I also have a style crush on Rachel Zoe and Jennifer Aniston. I love Californian blondes and have always wanted to live in LA.  Maybe one day…”

Shop Stop: “In no particular order I love Carven, Manoush, Alaia, Victoria Beckham, Miu Miu, Chloé, Raoul and anything from the fourth floor of Harvey Nichols in London. For basics Zara, Sandro and Maje are my go to brands and for shoes it’s got to be Christina Louboutin, Rupert Sanderson and Jimmy Choo.

Treasured Pieces: “My father gave me a gold charm bracelet from Tiffany’s on my 21st birthday and I adore it. I’ve added to it over the years by adding charms from different people at different times.”

Uniform Of Choice: “Black leather trousers and a black or white vest top. To accessories sky-high heels with a large bag and sunglasses.”

My Wardrobe:  “I like it to be neat, arranged by clothing type and colour coordinated with everything freshly dry-cleaned.  I can’t stand clutter and love putting my favourite items in the middle of the rail so I see them first.”

Every Woman Should Own: “There are so many things! Ideally a wardrobe should be 80 per cent practicality and 20 per cent sentimentality.”
