When we heard Ruth’s Chris were previewing their Christmas menu, we were there with bells on (get it? Christmas? Bells?). The award-winning American steakhouse is offering a fine-dining festive menu throughout December, and we can confirm that it doesn’t disappoint.

DÉCOR

With a dimly lit, wooden-panelled restaurant space and a jazz pianist, diners are met with finery from the onset. Starched white tablecloths and a dark colour palette of black and red give it that old-school American feel.

FOOD

For starters, a creamy pumpkin risotto sets the indulgent tone of the meal. A light portion ensures there’s plenty room for the main event, which is important when roasted pheasant or beef with red wine sauce is on offer. Of course, all mains are served with the delicious sides of mashed potato, Yorkshire puddings and olive stuffing.

We recommend going steady on the savoury courses, however, as dessert is the clear highlight – a decadent cinnamon chocolate fondant, served with vanilla ice cream and mixed berries.

BEST FOR

A swanky Christmas do.

GO FOR

Who wants to spend Christmas slaving in the kitchen when a professional chef can do it for you? In fact, if you like your festive season stress-free, the entire menu can be ordered in advance for pick-up. Enjoy a gourmet family meal in your own home.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House’s festive menu will be available on request during December. However, the beef main course option will need to be ordered seven days in advance and the turkey 48 hours in advance. The full menu will be served throughout the day on December 24 and 25. The cost of the three-course set menu will be Dhs350 per person.
