Season after season, the House of Dior continues to captivate us with its haute couture pieces.

In partnership with the prestigious Qatar Museums, the house is currently presenting Christian Dior Designer of Dreams in the heart of Doha, Qatar.

After several successful displays at iconic locations such as Paris, London, Shanghai and New York, this exhibition is the first of its kind to tap into the region.

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, a long-standing client of Christian Dior Couture, will share haute couture ensembles belonging to her.

Visitors are invited on a voyage of discovery, to witness nearly seventy-five years of history-making strides witnessed through time. By evoking features of the legendary 30 Avenue Montaigne, guests witness a majestic entrance designed by Nathalie Crinière that leads to a resplendent exhibition curated by Olivier Gabet.

Discussing the groundbreaking exhibition taking place in the region, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, said, “The exhibition Christian Dior Designer of Dreams has captivated audiences around the globe with its stunning design and breathtaking fashion creations.”

“Qatar Museums is pleased to present a special presentation of the exhibition in Doha, in collaboration with Dior and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs,” she continued. “Qatar Museums gives special thanks to Place Vendôme for their generous support as the presenting sponsor of the exhibition.

“Christian Dior was a true visionary.”

Dior

As the Parisian Maison’s storied relationship with art and floristry continues through time, several elements are beautifully exhibited at this display. Botanical works dating back to the 15th century were presented alongside the iconic Miss Dior, which is a true testament to the house’s successful creations. With floral motifs deeply embedded into different creations, the unmissable pieces reflect Monsieur Dior’s love of flowers through delicate embellishments and haute couture herbarium.

From the sumptuousness of Versailles to savoir-faire of the Ateliers, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s noteworthy vision is reflected through the display with complimenting hints of Middle-Eastern-inspired elements.

By reinterpreting the notion of artistic talents, Dior’s fascination with creativity takes on new meaning through the fifty Lady Dior handbags that have been envisioned by painters, sculptors and designers with their own take.

No exhibition is complete without flamboyant pieces which were previously adorned by celebrities. The Princess of Wales’ elegant gown and pieces worn by Jennifer Lawrence, pay a tribute to them in every way.

Giving visitors an opportunity to witness this once-in-a-life walkthrough of Dior’s decades ensures that their legacy is proudly withheld to date.

The collection is on display at M7 Creative Hub in Msheireb Downtown Doha until March 31, 2022, for guests to witness these luxe ensembles.
