Spreading a message of body positivity

It seems like every time Chrissy Teigen tweets, she cements her place as Queen of the Internet further. The former model is frequently trending on Twitter, thanks to her sense of humor, relatable stories and her constant interaction with fans. Personally, we will never forget when she casually name-dropped the Dubai Airport during a twitter rant when she had a 14-hour layover in London on her way back from Morocco.

Once again the cookbook author sparked an intense discussion on social media, when she tweeted about her “new normal” post-pregnancy weight. Yesterday, Chrissy wrote about coming to terms with her new body, 10 months after giving brith to her son and second child, Miles. “Basically I am 20 pounds heavier than I was before miles. he’s 10 months old, I never lost the last bit because I just love food too much. Just coming to terms with my new normal, when I had this certain number for so long!”

The 33-year-old and her husband John Legend welcomed their first child, Luna two years ago, after which Chrissy had experienced postpartum depression. “The thinnest I’ve ever been was right after Luna. Postpartum depression. I’LL TAKE THESE POUNDS AND THIS FEELING!”

We love how honest the Lip Sync Battle co-host is, especially when she is championing self-love and talking about issues that most women face after giving birth. Postpartum depression is a serious issue, and something that many new mothers suffer from in silence. Symptoms include extreme anxiety, acting withdrawn, rage and changes in eating and sleeping patterns.
