Even John couldn’t get enough of it

There are so many things that Chrissy Teigen is good at. From being the internet’s favourite person, to nailing every red-carpet look, we just can’t get enough of her. In a recent appearance, the cookbook author looked like a goddess in a green dress by Lebanese designer to the stars, Georges Hobeika.

The mother-of-two attended the Baby2Baby gala in California on Saturday night. She walked the black carpet alongside her husband, musician John Legend, who also presented her with the Giving Tree Award for her commitment to giving back to children in need.

The power couple were the picture of pastel perfection at the event. For the special occasion, Chrissy wore a sparkling green one-shoulder gown from Georges Hobeika’s Fall Winter 2019/2020 collection. The dress featured delicate beading, with a thigh-high slit, flowing skirt, draping sleeve and a train that John had to make sure not to step on. She completed the look with Jennifer Meyer jewellery, metallic heeled sandals and a Jimmy Choo clutch.

Ever the romantic, John gave a touching speech while presenting Chrissy with her award. “I love my wife. I’ve made no secret of this. I’ve written songs about her and penned adoring Instagram posts about her for her birthday and our anniversary and Mother’s Days, and she’s a pretty awesome woman,” Legend said onstage. “And because she’s so awesome, a new genre of writing these speeches has become a specialty to me. It’s the ‘Chrissy’s Being Honoured at a Huge Event Speech.'”

“Everybody knows she’s fierce, but she also has a big generous heart,” he continued. “Nearly all her charity work is [inaudible] to make sure kids and families have the food and the supplies they need to survive and thrive. But I get to witness Chrissy as a mother, she’s creative, she’s fun, she’s so affectionate with our kids. But we also have the good fortune to not have to worry about the expenses and challenges that seem insurmountable for living for other families. She’s very, very aware of that and she keeps that in mind everyday.”

After winning the award and in true Chrissy fashion, the Lip Sync Battle host posted a funny video of her with her award. When she and John returned home, she went straight to putting her new award in a place of honour – the couple’s trophy shelf. The queen of Twitter removed not only one, but two of her husband’s Grammy awards to make room for her newest accolade.
