If you’re an avid fan of Charlotte Tilbury makeup, then you’ll be pleased to hear the recent announcement surrounding the brand.

The beauty line has officially been listed as a cruelty-free brand, having been granted the Leaping Bunny certification from Cruelty Free International – the leading organisation which campaigns for an end animal experiments worldwide.

Since launching in 2013 by makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, the brand has remained strong on its stance against animal testing, but this official certification from Cruelty Free International is reaching a level of “utmost importance”, as noted by the founder herself.

“Reaching this level is of utmost importance to the brand and our customers, and marks a huge step in our global expansion plan with a strategic partner that supports our purpose, positive values and disruptive way of doing business,” she told WWD following the news.

She also added that the certification of the Leaping Bunny is able to assure customers Charlotte Tilbury is officially cruelty-free so they can be conscious consumers.

Charlotte added, “Ensuring that we reached compliance and supplied all information was challenging, but we managed this by working very closely with our suppliers and agreeing to ongoing independent audits to ensure approval.”

It’s been a highly successful couple of years for Charlotte Tilbury. In particular, last year Puig – a Spanish fashion and fragrance company – bought a majority stake in the makeup and skincare brand.

However, founder Charlotte remains heavily involved in the company as a minority stakeholder, chairperson, president and chief creative officer of the eponymous brand.
