August 28, 2021 marks the sixth annual Emirati Women’s Day launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, the Mother of the nation, in 2015.

This year the theme of Emirati Women’s Day is ‘Women: Ambitions & Inspiration for the Next 50 Years’. This theme is in line with His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE’s declaration that 2021 marks the ‘Year of the 50th’.

Aiming to highlight the unlimited ambitions of Emirati women and their aspirations for a better and more prosperous future, Emirati Women’s Day 2021 pays tribute to the leadership’s support and empowerment of women.

We asked some inspirational Emirati women we know what makes them proud to be an Emirati woman and what they hope for the next 50 years in the UAE.

With special thanks to Alia Al Neyadi, Amna Al Haddad, Sara Tamimi, Sheikha Al Mheiri, Dr Eng Suaad Al Shamsi, Maryam Saeed, Asma Hilal Lootah, Nadia Zaal and Zeinab Al Hashemi.
