IN PARTNERSHIP: As an ode to a decade of collaboration with Monsieur Christian Lacroix, Desigual has launched a celebratory collection entitled Desigual X Monsieur Christian Lacroix Forever, born as a means to represent spontaneity.
Featuring the French couturier’s icons Tanya Dziahileva, Eugenia Volodina and Anne Rohart, the collection showcases a series of fusion patchwork elements that infuse colour in all its forms. The carefully curated textiles inspired by Mediterranean nature highlight a love for art and passion through design.
From lavender tones inspired by Monsieur Lacroix’s native town of Arles, France, with purple in all its variants, these sartorial elements are an emblematic significant of his roots.
Thomas Meyer, founder of Desigual says, “From the very first moment, we felt an enormous mutual respect that has developed into a professional collaboration and friendship.
“Of ten years… and twenty seasons. He comes here once a month or so, some- times we go to see him, and we have Lacroix for a bit!”
With the dress of the season being designed by the Monsieur himself, its delicate features are highlighted through its tulle material with an elegant floral print added through the inventiveness from the brand from a theme inspired by the silky Arlesian lavender fields which are fully blossomed around this time each year as he reminds us that it’s time to dream.
Escaping through this exclusive anniversary collection, each look embraces a refined form of femineity through eco-friendly fabrics which are displayed through liberating silhouettes such as majestic kimonos and structured pinafores.
