Calling all budding fashion entrepreneurs. The highly successful London College of Fashion’s Handbag Design Course is returning to the UAE, shortly after the exciting announcement that graduate and Dubai resident Cathleen Nicol has launched her own popular handbag line.

After attending London College of Fashion’s Handbag Design Course Cathleen Nicol has launched her own line, C. Nicol, and now you could get the opportunity to be the next fashion star as the LCF’s short course programme returns to Dubai this October.

The course has become extremely popular in the region for providing the ideal platform for young designers, merchandisers and stylists to learn from the industry’s best and begin a career in the fashion business. Something that helped Cathleen Nicol create her incredibly stylish bag collection.

After completing the course at London College of Fashion, Cathleen was inspired to design and launch her own handbag line. The contemporary line, inspired by British labels, art and heritage, is clean, cool and classic and offered in sophisticated shades including emerald, lavender and tan. The bags have been a huge success already in both London and Dubai and are currently stocked in The Fashion Palais boutique in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, as well as online in the UK and Europe. Cathleen is also set to launch a mini line this autumn called Royal Winter.

Speaking of how the handbag design course gave her the knowledge and inspiration to embark on her own venture, Cathleen said: “The courses I took with London College of Fashion in Dubai helped me to take my idea and dream for my own accessories label and make it reality. I often recall practical tools and advice that LCF tutors Ann Saunders and Toby Meadows imparted to our group when I am faced with a challenge in my business. I would recommend the LCF courses for anyone thinking of a future in the fashion industry.”

London College of Fashion’s short course programme takes takes place three times a year in Dubai and will return to the Vida Hotel next from October 23 to November 5 with an array of courses and consultancy sessions covering a wide spectrum of fashion fields. For those who are more adept or already working in the industry, LCF also offers more advanced courses and consultancy sessions to further ones career. It’s the ideal platform for young designers, merchandisers and stylists to learn from the industry’s best and begin a career in the fashion business.
