A big night for the rapper

Cardi B might have skipped the blue-carpet at the BET awards last night, but that didn’t stop her from stealing the show. It was a big night for the Bodak Yellow hitmaker, who went home with two of the biggest awards of the night – and looked really good while doing it.

The 26-year-old opened the event, and brought the heat with her performance and outfit. Cardi kicked off the BET Awards with an emerald performance outfit designed by Bryan Hearns, who has dressed stars like Ariana Grande and Jeniffer Lopez. The look featured a cut-out corset and puffy sleeves, and of course crystal embellishments to bring the look full circle. She performed her latest single Press and was also joined on stage by her rapper husband Off-set, to perform their collaboration Clout.

Soon after her performance, Cardi changed into a whole other green ensemble to receive her awards. The mother-of-one took home two awards: Best female hip-hop artist, and Album of the year for Invasion of Privacy. Her second look was a lime-green dress with structured shoulders and shimmering crystals. The bright green look had intricate braiding at the top, along with a structured bodice. Instead of a skirt, the long-sleeved bodysuit had strips of fabric hanging down for length and drama, as well as two high slits. It comes courtesy of Lebanese designer, Nicholas Jebran, who has dressed the rapper in different occasions.

In August of last year, Kulture’s mother made her post-baby debut at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she wore two Lebanese designers. She walked the carpet in a bright fuschia velvet dress by Nicolas Jebran, which was cut to the thigh on the front, and longer at the back.
