October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as a result, the UAE’s women can take advantage of a series of events, activities and deals happening across the city.

So from spa treatments, to dinners and obstacles courses, all of it helps. Here’s what’s happening in the UAE this month:

Pink Ladies Games

It’s the first time the event has ever come to the UAE, and will feature five challenges that will see women from across the country duking it out at Fairmont, The Palm.

The money raised will go towards breast cancer research, with over 500 women competing in challenges such as the Land Rover tire change, paddle boarding race, waitressing race, tug of war and a designed circuits course.

There will also be a free examination facility on hand for all women.

Entry is Dhs650 for a team of five, of which Dhs100 will be donated to the Pink Caravan breast cancer initiative.

Pink October at Anantara Sir Bani Yas

Over October 21 and 22, Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island will be donating Dhs25 from each island activity to charity. Archery targets and activity cars will be decorated in pink, and guests will be given the opportunity to indulge in pink spa treatments.

The money will go towards a local breast cancer support group, and pink, crystal-embellished pins will also be sold for Dhs10.

Meal deal at Atelier M

Throughout the month of October, Atelier M in Dubai Marina will be offering up a special organic three-course set menu starting from Dhs199. the idea is to help promote optimal health and healthy eating during breast cancer awareness month.

Pink Paddle and ladies spa day at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara

Take part in a guided kayak tour around the mangroves, wearing pink, to discover the nature and exotic birdlife amongst the trees.

The Anantara Spa at Eastern Mangroves will also be offering a special pampering package on weekdays throughout October, including a rose and sandalwood infused desert sand full body scrub as well as a 45-minute oil massage and an Elemis facial. Comes with pool access. Ten per cent of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Pink Spa Products at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara

Throughout October, the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort will be offering the Elemis Breast Cancer Care Wellbeing Collection for Dhs580, which includes a limited edition bag containing harmonising massage oils, firming balms, detox capsules and anti-aging moisturisers. Funds made from the sales will go towards the Breast Cancer Care charity.

Over October 21 and 22, the resort will also donate Dhs25 from each activity booked towards a local charity.

Pink dishes at La Cantine du Faubourg

In partnership with the Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation, La Cantine will be offering up some of its menu’s classics in pink throughout the month of October.

La Cantine’s eton mess will be feature pink soft-crispy meringue and pink Chantilly whipped cream. Pink Lady cocktails and Pink Blush mocktails will also be on offer, with all the proceeds from selected items going towards the Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation.

SensAsia’s discounted treatments

Throughout the month of October, SensAsia Urban Spas around Dubai will be donating some of their profits towards breast cancer charity Friends of Cancer Patients.

Ten per cent of the proceeds from the Dhs499 Bali Chic Massage will go towards charity, 100 per cent of the profits from their Dhs299 neck pillows will go to charity, and 100 per cent of the profits from their essential oil sales will go to charity.

Pink is Punk Run and Swim

The Ignite Pink is Punk event returns on October 7 with a bigger focus on their 3km fun run. Hosted at the Anantara The Palm, 100 per cent of the event’s proceeds go towards the Al Jilal Foundation.

Throughout the day there’ll be a 600m swim and a 3km beach and pavement run, as well as a 400m swim with a 1.6km beach and pavement run, and for the juniors, a 200m swim with an 800m beach and pavement run. If you don’t like swimming, feel free to just take part in the running.

Pink Bazaar At Tips & Toes

Throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness, Tips & Toes are having a Pink Bazaar sale with numerous pink items such as pink T-shirts, coffee mugs, water bottles and much more going on sale. All proceeds will go to breast cancer charity, Pink Caravan.

Also throughout October Tips & Toes salons are offering Pink Ladies’ packages, starting from Dhs220, with Dhs25 from each package being directly donated to charity. For just Dhs225, ladies can opt for an Express Mani/Pedi with silver tape nail art detailing and a 30-minute head, neck, and shoulder massage.
