When Friday comes around we usually have one thing on our minds, breakfast. We like to plan a leisurely brunch somewhere delicious and equally as stylish, we are Emirates Woman after all.

The Pantry Café, found opposite Safa Park on Al Wasl Square has been on our radar for a while. So post early morning beach run down on Jumeriah 1, we stopped off at the new modern café to refuel and set ourselves up for the weekend.

With exposed brick walls and funky coloured seats, the café/bistro has the feel of a cool New York eatery.

With grumbling tummies, we were quick to order a organic Masala omelette and a traditional Arabic breakfast, Shakshuka (braised eggs in onions and tomatos, topped with labneh). It was if the chef sensed our hunger pangs, as the plates were in front of us within seven minutes (who’s counting?!).

We admit, there was a mix up with the hot/cold milk and the wholemeal/white pita bread, that aside the service was great with plenty of waiters buzzing around attentively.

With a sizeable menu, it was inevitable there was going to be food envy from neighbouring tables, especially when they played host to French Toast covered in strawberries and cream, fruit salads and vibrant coloured smoothies. Although pretty full from eggs, we couldn’t hold back from ordering the healthy fruit salad; a glass jar, the size of ones head, filled to the brim with low-fat natural yoghurt, a drizzle of honey and chunky chopped up fruits.

And for those in a rush, don’t hesitate to stop by and collect some delicious pastries, cupcakes, coffee and sandwiches to take-away from the deli.
