Our favourite Parisian designer Isabel Marant is now on our doorstep thanks to Boutique 1, debuting its first stand-alone store in the Mall Of The Emirates.
There’s no denying that we’re unrelenting, unabashed Isabel Marant fan girls here at EW headquarters, so when we heard the announcement that the only designer (in our eyes) that really can do ‘French girl cool’ was setting up shop just a stones throw away from us, we jumped straight to Boutique 1’s website bookmarking our favourite pieces.
The new store, which is owned by Boutique 1, is located on the second floor of the prestigious Fashion Dome area in the Mall of the Emirates. Dedicated to the brand’s ready-to-wear main line collection the new store also houses the brand’s diffusion line, Isabel Marant Étoile, along with shoes (yes those undeniably lust-worthy sneakers and boots) and accessories.
The store concept designed by Isabel Marant and Architecture Franklin Azzi feeds from local culture and comprises of a singular space of organised geometry with a mix of organic materials, mineral partitions and precious metals.
The Isabel Marant A/W14 recipe is a sartorial mix of boxy-shouldered jacket’s, furry spiked heels, white leather patchwork pants, curly shearling gilets and a perennial excuse for putting legs on show.
Isabel started designing accessories in 1989 before launching her ready-to-wear independent brand five years later. Her signature bohemian styles of flowing skirts and earthy hues are coveted by the world’s most sartorially savvy, including Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio and Italian It girl and stylist Erica Pelosini. A spot on the front row at Isabel Marant is one of the hottest tickets at Paris Fashion week and the one show that we would totally chop off our sartorial right arm for!
