The free-jumping revolution has just gotten serious with our favourite trampoline-filled venue, Bounce, launching a new class that guarantees to not only get you burning mega-calories but also channels your inner child – well, the last time we spent that much time laughing on a trampoline was in gym class at secondary school – we refuse to disclose just how long ago that was.

What is it?

It is a hour class using the trampoline beds on which you perform a variety of typical circuit exercises including running drills, burquees and the plank as well as typical gymnastic movements including tucks, airplane and piked jumps.  It is a high-intensity but low-impact workout that burns calories at an extreme rate, blasts your core, improves all-over muscle tone and lifts your heart rate.


Well according to NASA: “Rebound exercise is the most efficient, effective form of exercise yet devised by man.”  And we’re not going to argue with NASA, who also revealed in a survey that 10 minutes on the trampoline is a better cardiovascular workout than 33 minutes of running.

Other benefits includes keeping the heart in great shape and burning a large number of calories, it can also help to reduce the risk of bone conditions. As the trampoline bed absorbs the majority of the impact, bones and joints are protected whilst exercising, improving posture and general muscle health and core strength, and it is also great for mental health to, as it releases endorphins which can help to make you feel great and combat stress and anxiety.


As you can see from the video this is one intense workout, however because I was are on a trampoline I regressed into a child-like state, so even though I was exhausted I couldn’t stop laughing. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much during a workout. While it is a hard workout the classes are all about fun, high spirits and awesome soundtracks.

It was certainly different from any circuit or bootcamp class I’ve tried and I mean that in a good way.

Unlike your usual Bounce sessions you will need your trainers for this class. Also, as there are no shower facilities you need to factor in the fact that you will need to go home to get ready for work – a little time consuming but my only negative point.

The Details

Bounce Fit launches tomorrow (Sept 2). They will be two classes a day on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Timings are 7am-8am, 9am-10am. Each class runs for one hour including warm up and cool down. Price per class is Dhs120, but packages are availble (purchase 10 sessions and get one free).
