Bottega Veneta has announced who their new creative director will be after Daniel Lee’s departure from the Maison.

Matthieu Blazy has been named as Lee’s successor.

His appointment will enhance the brand’s growth while still preserving the core values for which the brand stands for. While sharing a similar aesthetic to that of Lee, Bottega Veneta’s 50-year heritage continues to be in good hands.

With a strong record of uplifting creative talent within the industry, Kering has done it yet again, as the audience has been keen observers of his outstanding growth trajectory.

Blazy brings a wealth of experience to the table. Having started his career as Men’s Designer for Raf Simons, then went on to become a senior designer at Céline and eventually being appointed as RTW design director at Bottega Veneta in 2020.

Leo Rongone, CEO of Bottega Veneta, said, “Matthieu Blazy is an extraordinarily talented individual, whom I am proud and excited to entrust with the creative helm of our luxury house. Matthieu’s appointment will further enhance the modern relevance of our brand and accelerate our growth while preserving the values that are the core of Bottega Veneta.”

Lee’s tenure as Bottega Veneta’s creative director for three years undoubtedly left an unfathomable legacy that will carry on for years to come.

From reinventing the intrecciato weave to infusing modern elements, Lee’s contribution to the brand has been unsurmountable.
