Making the world better, one step at a time
Bloomingdale’s Middle East and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, have collaborated on the “The Pioneers” – a platform in support of people who are aiming to create change through various endeavours. The UAE is a hub for creative youth with undeniable drive and for this campaign, Bloomingdale’s Middle East have worked with six, who wore broken down into four categories: The Humanitarian, The Activist, The Trailblazer and The Innovators.
Meet the six UAE-based pioneers who are spearheading this project:
The Humanitarian
Shadia Al-Jabri – Director of Rawafed, Development and Learning Center

Education is key to Shadia, who has dedicated her work and career to make sure that underprivileged children are given access to the education that they deserve.
The Activist
Noor Al Obaid – Founder of Bake and Educate

Noor is a Kuwaiti-Syrian hybrid, who has found her calling in baking. She believes in baking with a cause, continuously raising awareness and supporting families in Kuwait who’re unable to cover their children’s tuition fees.
The Trailblazer
Bedour Al-Raqbani – Director and founder of Kalamati Center for Communication and Rehabilitation

Bedour is a proud mother to a child of determination, and has opened her center’s doors to the public in hopes of becoming the first community service establishment dedicated to treating children with special needs.
The Innovators
Maryam Belhoul, Ahmed Al Zarooni and Rama Husamddine – Members of ‘With Hope’

This dynamic trio are a representation of “With HopeUAE”. Their aim is to build a supportive and coexistent community by promoting mental health awareness through volunteerism in the United Arab Emirates.
