Over the weekend, musical powerhouse Beyoncé released her new visual album release entitled Black is King.

As you’d expect it’s a true extravaganza in the music department, but it’s also a showstopper in the fashion department and even champions a designer from this region.

Whilst performing her song My Power in the visual release, the Grammy Award-winner is seen wearing an extravagant black-feathered clothing piece by Saudi Arabian designer Mohammed Ashi of Beirut-based label, Ashi Studio.

Giving more of an insight into what it took to create the incredible piece, the brand took to Instagram to share details of the creation process of the design Beyoncé wore.

“Mr Ashi was honoured to create this elaborate hand-made embroidered piece which took 70 hours of work that was featured in the ‘Black is King’ film released by Disney and directed by Beyonce yesterday in the states,” the brand revealed.

“The look incorporated exotic bird feathers, placed one by one on the bodice for this film that has a powerful impact in the world.”

Interestingly, this is not the first time Beyoncé has worn a piece designed by the brand.

Back in 2018, while the 38-year-old performed at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela at 100 event in Johannesburg, South Africa, she wore an elaborate fuchsia gown by Ashi Studio.

In fact, the brand has quite the A-list fan base with celebrities including Heidi Klum, Jennifer Hudson and Tracee Ellis Ross all having worn pieces by Ashi Studio in the past.
