Front-row tickets to Beychella
Last week, it was reported Beyoncé fans are in for a surprise, with new music and a documentary on the horizon. Now, one half of that has been confirmed, as Netflix just dropped the trailer to Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé.
The special is a treat to everyone who loves Queen B, especially those of us who couldn’t attend last year’s iconic Coachella performance. The documentary will give us in a glimpse into what went on behind-the-scenes as Beyoncé lit up California’s annual music and arts festival. The streaming giants described the special as “a an intimate and in-depth look at Beychella.” Prior to dropping the trailer, Netflix teased fans by posting an image on Instagram with just the film’s title – talk about suspense!

The trailer, which gave us goosebumps, opened up with footage of the mother-of-three preparing for the performance with her team of dancers and musicians, as a a voiceover of Maya Angelou plays. “I want to be representative of my race — the human race,” Maya says over images of the Beyoncé rehearsing. The special will be released on April 17, and will document Queen B’s journey from “creative concept to cultural movement.”
Not only that, but the documentary will also give us a look into the relationship between Beyoncé and rapper husband Jay-Z. Moreover, the trailer also features heartwarming footage of the singer and her children, including 10-month-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter. The film, is two hours and 17 minutes long, so we could expect to see full performances from the iconic concert. Maybe even footage from featured performers like her sister Solange and former Destiny’s Child members.
