Bella Hadid has opened up about her mental health struggles and insecurities in a raw and candid post on Instagram.

Sharing a clip of Willow Smith discussing mental health and how we often, as humans, are “trying to cover [anxiety] up in some way”, Bella applauded the 21-year-old and it prompted her to do the same.

The supermodel posted several photos of herself crying, revealing the real reality of her life which has been the case for “everyday, every night, for a few years now”.

“Social media is not real,” she said. “For anyone struggling, please remember that. Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you.

“Self-help and mental illness/chemical imbalance is not linear and it is almost like a flowing rollercoaster of obstacles… it has its ups and downs, and side to sides. But I want you to know, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and the rollercoaster always comes to a complete stop at some point.”

She added that through her struggles with mental health and burn out she’s learned that “if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas, triggers, joys and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your own pain and how to handle it”.

The 24-year-old finished her post by thanking her fans for “seeing” and “listening” to her “truth”.

The raw and honest post clearly resonated with many others as Bella was praised in the comments by her fans and celebrities alike including Willow herself, her sister Gigi Hadid, designer Marc Jacobs, model Precious Lee and more.
