It’s been seven years since Jean Paul Gaultier’s last collection in 2014, but the house is back with a statement with its latest collection entitled ‘Les Marins by Jean Paul Gaultier’ which features part-Palestinian model Bella Hadid.

Alongside Hadid, Qaher Harhash, who is the first Palestinian man to sign to a modelling agency, the pair appear together to embody the new collection which hones in on everything related to the oceans including sailors, knots, seashells and overall aquatic life.

The ‘Les Marins’ collection was co-designed by fashion talents Ottlolinger, Palomo Spain, Marvin M Touma, Alan Crocetti and Lecourt Mansion, as they’ve offered a fresh perspective on the theme.

Hadid shared a video on Instagram from the campaign with her 43 million followers saying, “To work on projects like this, with a team of people coming from all walks of life, is the reason I continue to do this job. To highlight the beauty in diversity and then to watch it shine so bright…. Well, it just made me really proud.

“Thank you to this incredible team. I send my love to you over and over again. You are all a dream, to me.”

Transforming into a glittering mermaid as part of the latest summer drop this season, a nautical theme is explored through this exclusive unisex collection in a video directed by British photographer Charlotte Wales and shot by film cinematographer Pat Aldinger, for a collection spearheaded by the Maison’s latest creative director, Florence Tétier.

The collection primarily consists of bandanas, caps, retro-inspired swimsuits, seashell jewellery, logo T-shirts and corset tops. For more information regarding the latest collection visit jeanpaulgaultier.com
