As an ode to old Hollywood, Bella Hadid oozed charmed in a vintage Versace gown at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 red carpet.

For the screening of the film L’Innocent (The Innocent), Hadid dug into the Versace archives from the 1980s embracing the era’s extravagance, with a look styled by American fashion stylist, Law Roach. Gianni initially designed the gown in 1987 for the Austrian soprano and mezzo-soprano Helga Dernesch.

The all-black strapless vintage gown was synched at the waist with a stiff taffeta band. To add to its elegance, the silhouette featured a draped bodice in black georgette and a panné velvet skirt.

Her look was complemented with a pair of minimal drop diamond earrings and rings from Chopard delivering the ultimate stellar red carpet moment.

She shared a series of photos from the event with the caption, “It is an honor for @donatella_versace to lend this to me for such an important night: the 75th anniversary of the brilliant festival. Celebrating film and watching/listening/feeling the mutual respect of every person that makes it go round is consistently a highlight of my life.”

For a clean finish, the model made a sartorial statement with a slick back bun, dewy makeup and a pair of black velvet heels to ensure the peplum shape and striking bow of the gown stand out.

As the queen of classics, she championed yet another vintage piece later from the house that evening. For the event’s Anniversary dinner, she slipped into a flattering gown from Versace’s Fall/Winter 2001 RTW collection that highlighted the waist with a light brown leather section.

Whether her bold Schiaparelli Haute Couture look from the 74th Cannes Film Festival or the white column gown by Jean Paul Gaultier, this Hadid always seems to make headlines.
