We are adding another must-have bag to our new season roundup, and it comes courtesy of Burberry.
The Pocket Bag is Riccardo Tisci’s new signature for the house and takes inspiration from an archival Burberry bag.
Modelled by Bella Hadid, the campaign takes a cue from the Burberry Animal Kingdom – a house code first established by founder Thomas Burberry, who chose to present his company with an emblem of a knight on a horse – and for his family crest, a unicorn. Tisci continues to expand on this heritage by developing and evolving new animal prints and motifs each season.
“For Burberry’s first ever bag campaign, I knew that I needed to give the Pocket Bag a powerful modern energy,” explains Tisci. “Animals have always been a creative obsession and signature of mine, and it was so amazing to see Bella Hadid bring this to life as the panther. She has this fierce power and raw femininity that perfectly embodies the animal spirit.”
Crafted in Italy, the original silhouette of the bag has been given a new twist with an addition of a front pocket, leather taping, contrast topstitching and hand-painted edges. As a nod to the British brand’s equestrian heritage, the new must-have bag showcases a balanced combination of leather and canvas making it an ideal companion for every day.
In her second campaign for Burberry, Hadid is seen in a series of images and videos shot by Inez and Vinoodh wearing key pieces from the upcoming collection that celebrates edgy femininity.
The Pocket Bag comes in a variety of sizes and colourways, from canvas to embossed leather, and is available to purchase in selected Burberry stores globally and online.
