The band performed in front of Egypt’s great pyramids of Giza.

Rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers performed to over 10,000 people on Friday and the setting could not have been more unique.

Lighting up the stage with Egypt’s great pyramids of Giza serving as a backdrop, the the group performed some of their greatest hits including “Can’t Stop” from the 2002 album, “By The Way” and “Californication”.

With six Grammy awards on their CV, as well as being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, it wasn’t a surprise to see people from around the world travelling to this ancient site.

Bass player Michael “Flea” Balzary and drummer Chad Smith took to Instagram to share their adventures in Egypt including exploring one of the seven wonders of the world and camel riding in the desert.

“I love you Egypt! You are wild and beautiful and send my imagination flying! Hopefully we will be back to play again soon! Inshallah!” wrote “Flea” Balzary on his Instagram.
