Frédéric Malle is one connoisseur of scent. Meeting him along with celebrated ‘nose’ Dominique Ropion, I agonised over what perfume to wear for about an hour. I decided on one of my signatures, White Suede by Tom Ford – and yes, they did ask about it and continued to deconstruct it. Finally, a nod of approval – phew!

Frédéric comes from a creative dynasty. As the grandson of none other than Serge Heftler, the man responsible for creating Parfums Christian Dior, his mission was to create a line of seriously highbrow scents.

His collection of 18 fine perfumes saw Frédéric commission the most renowned noses in the industry to create fragrances with a no limitation attitude. With his most recent collaboration with Dries Van Noten, his ethos is “fragrance without compromise”, harnessing the power of the finest ingredients and creative talent in the business – this is the stuff that olfactory dreams are made from!
