beauty Q&A

Beauty Ed Samantha unveils the mermaid manicure, delightful deodorants and male grooming solutions…

Q.) My husband often suffers from a rash while he’s shaving and keeps stealing my expensive moisturisers to calm it! What affordable option can I buy him as a replacement?

A.) I would suggest he goes for a professional shave when possible at a male grooming lounge like 1847, this will ensure the hairs aren’t ingrown when they return and could quickly calm his rash. In between visits, get him a cooling cleansing gel that will work as an antibacterial solution and a light exfoliator, giving him a baby soft face even you would be jealous of!

Q.) The deodorants I pick up at the supermarket always smell so clinical, like washing powder, are there any brands that actually fragrance their sprays?

A.) Overly perfumed products on the skin can cause irritation especially in sensitive areas like the underarms so, naturally, most deodorants aren’t too heavily scented. If you’re looking for a light floral smell rather than an antibacterial one, I’d recommend checking out Fa’s new floral line, it combines notes of pink peonies, orchids and poppies – yum!

Q.)  I’ve had the caviar manicure, a velvet manicure, pointed tips and gems on my nails, are there any new nail looks trending at the moment that I can try – I’m a bit of an addict!

A.)  Believe it or not shells are the nail accessory du jour! Ciaté’s mermaid-inspired manicure kit is your easiest solution to mimicking the look. Containing crushed purple shells with a mother of pearl finish, a dusky lilac base coat and a mini funnel to replace any excess pieces back into the bottle they’ve made it super simple to emulate the trend.
