Beauty Editor Samantha Hamilton-Rushforth sorts out the realities from the myths when it comes to your make-up, fragrance and hair woes…
Q.) After years of straightening my hair I’m worried about the damage I’ve done. Are there any products on the market that can correct any trauma from over-styling?
A.) Prevention is always better than cure, so while there are a number of deep conditioning and reparative treatments on the market at the moment, it’s always best to shield your hair from the wrath of styling products with a heat-protectant spray. Alternatively, Philips have just launched their first line of straighteners that are infused with Jojoba oil so you can help heal tired locks while you’re styling.
Q.) I want to start stocking up on Eid gifts for my friends and family. Is there a perfume I can buy that will suit any age range?
A.) Elle L’aime by Lolita Lempicka’s has been on my scent radar for the past year and they’ve just relaunched the perfume with its own limited edition red lipstick. A great mix of warm and citrus notes, this fragrance is bound to be a hit with both your family and friends, and the classic red lippy is just the icing on the cake.
Q.) I’ve just purchased some great make-up palettes for summer, but I’m still new to applying a detailed make-up look, is there anywhere I can take a class?
A.) I’ve got two great options for you and luckily they’re both free! Bloomingdale’s Dubai are hosting a range of tutorials in-store from May 28-June 28 as part of their summer promotion so head to their flagship shop in The Dubai Mall for some great one-on-one tips. Alternatively you can watch a host of beauty bloggers on YouTube. There are many great tutorials revealing how to master even the most complicated make-up feats.
