Beauty Editor Samantha Hamilton Rushforth reveals the the secret to glossy hair, the best woody scents and where to get quirky beauty treats…

Q.) I’ve recently dyed my usually black hair into a short, chestnut crop like the models at Oscar de la Renta this season, whilst I love the style I’ve lost some of the glossiness by black hair used to have, how do I get it back?

A.) Glossy hair is healthy hair so make sure you’re keeping your locks moisturised and nourished with oils and heavy conditioners. Leave a hydrating mask on your hair at least once a week for 10 minutes or more and try to limit the amount of times you wash it per week, dry shampoo should be your new best friend! After you’ve washed your mask out, blast your hair with cold water for 10 seconds to seal the cuticle and keep the moisture in.

Q.) I was lucky enough to bag a ticket to Burning Man festival this year and I’d love to get a perfume that reminds me of the experience, something woody but bright, what would you suggest?

A.) Byredo have just released a scent called Mojave Ghost inspired by the desert and the flowers that thrive in its harsh environment. Blended with sandalwood, cedar and crisp magnolia flowers I think this is the perfect concoction to take you back to the summer festival scene.
