This week Beauty Editor Samantha Hamilton-Rushforth reveals the best skin specialists, top lip saviours and the perfect foundation for all skin types.
Q.) I’d like to consult a dermatologist about the condition of my skin, who are some of the top specialists in Dubai?
A.) Rebecca Treston is always a name I give out, she’s an excellent skin specialist with years of experience under her belt. If you’re struggling for an appointment, why not take part in her live Twitter chat on October 23, simply follow her on twitter (@rebeccatreston) and use the hashtag #skintreatmentsdubai to ask her any questions from 12pm-1pm. From anti-ageing to blemish concerns for face and body, Rebecca will personally tweet you her answers, how easy is that?
Q.) I always use a topcoat when I paint my nails to seal the colour in, is there a product that has the same effect on your lips?
A.) There is! Max Factor’s Global Creative Design Director and all-round beauty legend Pat McGrath used the Max Factor Lipfinity balm on models backstage at Victoria Beckham’s autumn winter 2014 show for just such an effect. Applied after a slick of lip gloss or simply as a moisturiser on its own, this easy-to-apply tube is the perfect finishing touch to a bold lip look.
Q.) I’ve just come back from holiday with a bit of a tan, should I keep my usual foundation shade or invest in a darker colour?
A.) If I were you I’d keep using your pre-tan colour as a concealer rather than an all over base and let your bronzed skin show through. If you’re still in-between colours by November, head to the Colour Profile counter at Sephora, where, using a Pantone spectrum of shades, they have a handy device that will pick your exact foundation shade out of 100 colours. Genius, no?
