Her art work has put Dubai on the map like never before?

CV: Artist and graphic designer Clare set up her own branding and design business before launching Highlife Dubai, a collection of tongue-in-cheek, vintage-style prints inspired by expat life in the UAE, at the end of last year.

Where it began: Clare turned a degree in graphic design into a career that has taken her from the UK to the UAE, via a stint in New York. She left her role as head of design at Saatchi & Saatchi Dubai to focus on branding for restaurants at hotels like Conrad Dubai, before embarking on her own independent projects.

Proud moment: “My biggest achievement has been launching Highlife Dubai and making my artworks accessible as unlimited digital prints.   Other artists have reacted with disdain to this, but I’m happy they are affordable for all.”

What winning means to me: “If I win this award it will really give me the confidence to follow this path as a full time artist for the rest of my life.”
