Teamed with a pair of Gap black skinny khakis, Chloe Allan, Editor of thegirlthatlivesinthedesert.com, proves the elegant trench is a wardrobe classic for every season, even in the Dubai heat!

The blogger knots the belt on the Gap trench at the waist. “It adds definition to my silhouette and makes the piece look more polished”, she reveals.

She completes her look with rock chic accessories, cage-like stilettos and a slouchy studded suede bag.

In true Brit style, Chloe is a get-up-and-go kind of girl, with just-rolled-out-of-bed locks and a flawless fresh complexion. We can tell she doesn’t need much help from her make-up bag, but for the evening, Chloe tells us: “I’ll slick on some coral gloss for my lips. It takes less than a minute and adds a fun pop of colour to my look.”

Describe your personal style?

I like to think I’m a little glam rock mixed with a bohemian touch. I’m a black clothes enthusiast and love easy pieces that I can dress up or down. Oversized bags and accessories are a must.

What are your favourite A/W13-14 trends and why?

I’m all about the rebel trend this season, with lots of leather jackets and skinny jeans. I don’t think they ever go out of style, but it’s definitely a key trend for the season ahead. Denim is also having a huge comeback for A/W. Adding an oversized slouchy denim jacket to your look gives it an effortlessly cool touch.

Why did you choose these particular Gap items?

A trench coat is so classic and timeless – it looks great on everyone. You can dress it up or dress it down. I think it shows you mean business! I love the black skinny khakis, they are the ultimate wardrobe piece. Every woman should own a pair as they can be worn for every occasion.

What’s your top tip for styling your body shape?

Emphasise the parts of your body that you are most comfortable showing and try to choose darker colours on the parts that you’re not. For example, if you have a larger lower body, go for dark denim or black trousers to give off a slimmer illusion.

If you could style anyone, who would it be?

To be honest nobody in particular, I love to dress-up anyone who adores fashion as much as I do!

Who do you get your style inspiration from?

I look to eighties rock bands, Kate Moss and the Olsen twins for their effortless style.
