With the festive season in full force and Dubai International Film Festival on the EW radar, my diary is running rife with red-carpets, cue panic.
So what better time to reveal my my red-carpet survival checklist:
1. The Dress
To really work the red-carpet you must feel confident in your ensemble and look exquisite from every angle – flash bulbs can be very unforgiving.
EW’s Fashion & Beauty Assistant Alexandra and myself both sported runway Gucci gowns for the IWC Schaffhausen event at DIFF 2012.

2. The make-up
Make-up needs to last all night so primers and powdershould be your best friends.
My trick to make eye-shadow po,p is to press it onto a thin layer of clear gloss.
Here I am using the Tom Ford Eye Color in Enchanted.

Here’s a tip from the top. Over breakfast, my friend, Basma Masri, Revlon’s Ambassador and make-up artist in the Middle East, gave me a lesson in shading. This season’s hottest colour is aubergine and she applies Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow in Addictive on my eyelid.
Glossy nails are a must. My go-to shade is Nail Enamel in Fearless by Revlon. It’s the perfect fire engine red.
3. The bling
At the plush new Levant store opening at The Dubai Mall, I had the chance to try on a myriad of beautiful jewels. From white diamond parures, emerald cocktail rings and the spell binding yellow diamonds, one can only dream…
If diamonds aren’t within the budget, don’t fret, there’s an amazing array of statement cocktail jewellery pieces to covet.
At the Moët & Chandon Dubai International Film Festival Event I gave my Oscar De La Renta Gold leaf necklace its red carpet debut.
Talking finger bling with fashion designer Essa.
Enjoy the rest of the festive season, with a little added sparkle.
Ciao for now,
Elizabeth
