HH Sheikh Mohammed is looking for “Arab Hope Makers”, and there’s a hefty reward up for grabs.
2017 is officially the ‘Year of Giving’, and a new initiative is most definitely rewarding those who pay it forward in their community.
In fact, those who go above and beyond in their philanthropic efforts could net themselves a prize of Dhs1 million.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has just revealed on his social media pages that he’s on the hunt for the next “Arab Hope Maker”.

What is an Arab Hope Maker, you ask? Well, it’s anyone from the Middle East who has a track record of volunteering and humanitarian work, or has made noted self-sacrificing actions for others.
The scheme has been launched by Sheikh Mohammed’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives foundation, which aims to “improve the Arab world through humanitarian, developmental and community work”.
The royal himself revealed a list of requirements for the winner, which include being recognised in their community for good conduct and humane actions, and a belief in the younger Arab generation, according to The National.
