After a hiatus in physical runway shows for over a year, the Arab Fashion Council is making a big return.

Two major events, the Fashion Icon Awards and Arab Fashion Week, will be back on our schedules this month from October 24 to October 28, 2021.

As the Arab Fashion Council continues to position Dubai as a global destination for design, fashion and talent, a strategic partnership with Dubai Design District (D3) is set to take the Council to the next level with their in-person shows.

“It is part of d3’s genetic makeup to rethink the regular – innovation is our driving force,” Khadija Al Bastaki, the Executive Director of Dubai Design District, said.

With an impactful start on October 24, 2021, the Fashion Icon Awards will feature influential celebrities and media who are set to attend this key event.

Meanwhile, Arab Fashion Week’s SS22 shows will feature both regional and international designers and will run from October 25 to October 28, 2021. Adding to the list of strong fashion names, designers Germanier, Weinsanto and Ester Manas have been carefully selected from Paris Fashion Week in collaboration with The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

Keeping in line with the Council’s mission to continually reach a larger target audience, Arab Fashion Week has also partnered with powerful technology initiatives to maintain its advanced digital presence.

With a market of up-and-coming designers, the Arab Fashion Council took it upon themselves to nurture a new wave of talent in partnership with GoDaddy. As these young fashion enthusiasts break into the industry, the campaign entitled ‘Cat Walk The Talk’ helps small business owners and creative entrepreneurs expand their digital presence through GoDaddy’s vast expanse of tools and resources.

From workshops to in-depth knowledge on this subject, eight capable entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to use the tools, products and redefine their existing presence for a revamped user-friendly journey. Entrepreneurs such as Yara Bin Shakar, an Emirati designer, and Zeina Ladki, a fashion consultant, are some of the creatives who’ll embark on this journey.

“We are excited to partner with the Arab Fashion Council on this unprecedented project where, together, we will support up-and-coming designers and makers with creative flair,” Selina Bieber, the General Manager of MENA of GoDaddy, said.

Each participant’s journey will be showcased through a docu-series and across GoDaddy’s social media channels.
