This year’s Academy Awards marked one of the first A-list events in a list of post-virtual awards ceremonies.

With that, there was also a magnificent red carpet featuring a plethora of incredible designers.

For the Oscar’s 93rd red carpet, Arab designers were championed including Rami Al Ali, Zuhair Murad and Georges Chakra.

While it may not have been a full-scale Oscars we’re used to, this red carpet made us reminisce of a pre-COVID world, which is hopefully returning soon.

Rami Al Ali

Giuliana Rancic wore a Rami Al Ali SS21/22 couture gown to the Oscars as she hosted E! News Live from the Red Carpet. The Italian-American entertainment reporter and television personality was seen adorned in this gorgeous silhouette is an ode to the designer’s Syrian heritage which is also often presented in his eponymous label which has gained enormous traction over the years due to his love for refined aesthetics.

Zuhair Murad

Raya Abirached, a Lebanese TV presenter and celebrity journalist at MBC, known for also hosting Arabs Got Talent, was seen on the red carpet in a gorgeous emerald green sequin dress from Zuhair Murad’s Ready-To-Wear Spring 2021 collection as she covered the 93rd Academy Awards from London. Nicolette Robinson, the American television actress was also spotted wearing Zuhair Murad at the Oscars this year. The Lebanese fashion designer has always created emotionally charged collections that directly pays homage to love for his country.

Georges Chakra

Famous TV personality Erin Lim was seen in a Georges Chakra gorgeous red gown with ruffles and a halter neck design. She paired the gown with black heels. Georges Chakra is a Beirut-based Lebanese haute couture fashion designer, who has presented his collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2001.
