Exploring the themes of feminity and modernity with his latest collection ‘White 5’, Rami Al Ali, yet again brings a fresh perspective to wedding wear at the New York Bridal Fashion Week.
Weaving a romantic narrative through a unique 12-piece collection, this is Rami’s fifth season of presenting his ready-to-wear bridal segment at the prestigious fashion week. “This is proudly our third season showcasing White at New York Bridal Fashion Week, fifth over all and our second time showcasing at The Plaza; an established and renowned location in the bridal world, offering us the perfect opportunity to showcase the ready-to-wear line,” shared the designer as he spoke about the iconic backdrop of his show and the collection he showcased.
Born to a historian mother and an architect father, the Syrian-designer inherited curiosity for art and culture which he seamlessly imbibes in his body of work. For his latest outing at the NYBFW, he crafted a line for the bride of today — deconstructed traditional loks with a modern spin. 12 exquisite pieces of timeless bridal attire — each interestingly different from the other. Full voluminous skirts meet structured bodice, boasts of the house’s versatile design codes. Balacning experimental cuts and shapes with impecabble craftmanship — Rami’s vision to design for women with different taste and style delivers through this line.

Diaphanous French laces, sumptuous silks, whimsical tulle and organza were strategically infused throughout his collection — attesting to his in-depth knowledge of blending contrasting fabrics together. Handcrafted Swarovski crystal embroideries combined with sophisticated beadwork carved an opulent-yet-understated surface ornamentation to his painstakingly constructed designs.
keeping the colour palette timeless and simple, it was an all-white show in shades of pearl with a hint of silver. The collection redefines bridal wear in a new language of elegance, where less is always more.
“On all three occasions, the collections have received fantastic and positive reviews, and so far, we have attracted the attention of the top bridal retailers in the US such as Bergdorf’s and Neiman Marcus. This season has been another great success and we are overwhelmed and thrilled with the results,” explained the Dubai-based couturier, as we take his insight about the collection’s performance on the business front.
