In perhaps the best news of the year for beauty lovers (but may be the worst for music lovers) it’s been reported Rihanna is putting all of her eggs in the beauty basket, instead of focussing on her ninth album.

In fact, Queen RiRi is keen to join the ranks with the likes of Huda Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics, Glossier and more, to build a billion-dollar beauty empire.

This decision, according to The Sun, is a strategic one as the 32-year-old has “realised there is more money in the beauty game than music as record sales die down and live touring faces big competition”.

A source told the publication, “Rihanna’s ninth album is on hold indefinitely. She wants to make her millions with beauty and is planning a new skincare line to go alongside her Fenty Cosmetics range.”

News of her skincare line will be welcomed by fans of Fenty Beauty, especially as just a few months ago the makeup mogul confirmed the next stage of her Fenty empire is on its way.

Appearing on the cover of British Vogue for their April issue, the Grammy Award winner revealed the new skincare line will be of the highest quality, just like her Fenty Beauty products, which the EW editors are huge fans of.

“Skincare, it’s the truth,” she told the publication. “It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide.”

Fans, including us, have been eagerly anticipating the release of skincare from Rihanna, with some eagle-eyed supporters catching wind of a trademark for ‘Fenty Skin’ being submitted last year. The trademark that was registered reportedly includes “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding colour cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators”.

As for why it’s taken what feels like forever for Rihanna to bring out skincare, the reason is simple – she downright refuses to bring out that is sub-par.

“I refuse to release anything that is not up to par with my quality level,” she told British Vogue.

While we are admittedly heartbroken there’s a hold on Rihanna’s ninth album, if it’s in the name of skincare from Fenty, we can definitely get on board.
