Visiting one of the wonders of the world is a must and trust us, your jaw will be on the floor when you get the first glimpse of Petra. The site is a lot bigger than you might expect so get there early and wear comfortable shoes, especially if you want to hike up to the top for the most Insta-worthy view. Our tip is to stay the night at one of the hotels by the entrance and explore the ancient site by candle light.

You will not appreciate pure silence until you have spent a night under the stars at one of many camps in Wadi Rum. The red sand of the desert will make you feel like you’re on Mars, while the clear skies unspoilt by light pollution will help you not only see the Milky Way but planet Mars itself. Make sure you schedule a lunch with a local Bedouin family for an authentic experience.
