She is expecting her second child.

Infertility is a subject that many struggle to talk about, making Anne Hathaway’s pregnancy announcement that much more significant.

The Oscar-winning actress shared the news that she was expecting baby number two with her husband Adam Shulman on Instagram.

Hathaway also used it as an opportunity to give a shoutout to all women who are struggling to conceive.

She wrote: “For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”

Shulman and Hathaway already have one son together, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, who was born on March 24, 2016

Discussing infertility is challenging, but more women than ever are sharing their struggles which not only informs others of their options, but also makes them feel that they’re not alone.

According to a study conducted by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) found that as of 2016, nearly 50 percent of women in Dubai were suffering from issues pertaining to pregnancy. By 2030, the number of women seeking infertility treatment in Dubai could rise to 9,000.

Dr Diana Kayal, specialist in obstetrics, gynaecology, reproductive medicine and infertility at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic, Dubai, told Gulf News: “There could be many reasons for this, including lifestyle, work pressure, stress, weight gain and even eating unhealthily.”
