The resemblance is uncanny
Marilyn Monroe may have passed 57-years ago, but she still remains one of the most recognisable people around the world. The American actress has become the epitome of sensual glamour and has been a style icon for decades. With this level of fame, comes endless films and biopics telling the story of the Some Like it Hot actress’ life. The latest being Netflix’s Blonde which has Spanish actress, Ana de Armas portraying the pop-culture icon.
In March, the streaming giants announced that the Blade Runner 2049 actress will star as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde. The upcoming Netflix movie is based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, offering a fictionalised take on the late star’s life. Filming of the film began in August, with Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale and Julianne Nicholson among the newly added cast members.
For this role, Ana de Armas had to channel Norma Jeane Mortenson and if the newly released images are anything to go by, she is going to truly embody the icon. Twitter accounts dedicated to the actress have been posting pictures of her on set, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.

It is clear that the Knives Out actress is dedicated to the role, as she has been posting multiple picture of Marilyn on her Instagram. The latest was early August when she posted a photo of the late star which she captioned: “Thinking of you today, Norma Jeane. You’ve never been more present and closer to my heart. Thank you. ♥️🌸 ”
