Because let’s be serious, half the fun is getting ready.
You’ve sorted your outfit, you know what shoes you’re wearing, you even know what you’re doing for New Year’s Eve. You’re incredibly organised and you’ve done so well.

Shine bright
From Dubai’s own Huda Kattan comes this modern retro style. Think red lips, defined brows and big lashes. Those brushed-out waves are a good move also.
Blue heaven
At the complete other end of the spectrum (think fashion forward rather than classic) is this glittering blue lip from French makeup artist Violette. With highlighted cheekbones and glossy eyelids, it’s fresh and surprisingly wearable. Love.
Match point
We’ve been obsessing over pink toned eye makeup all year, so it makes sense to end 2017 on that note. This look from Rhea Jacobs is super glam, but still interesting. Just right.
Peacocking
And then, from legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath, there’s this dreamy situation. The US-based MUA has captioned this shot ‘Opulence,’ and we’re forced to agree. With all those eye shadows it’s not one for beginners, but wow. What an effect.
On ice
Here, Rihanna makes an argument for matching your makeup to your clothes. Her copper and pale blue eye makeup is in harmony with her Versace silks, and it works so well. If you’re looking to recreate this exactly, she’s wearing items from her Fenty Beauty Galaxy collection.
