Over the years, the number of global celebrities who have chosen to partner with Arab designers for their Cannes appearances has only increased.

Beyond celebrities from the region, international names have time and again leaned towards Arab talent to create a spectacle at what is arguably the biggest red carpet of the year.

While seasoned Arab designers like Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab solely reigned supreme for many years. Over the last few seasons, an array of Arab design houses have taken centre stage.

Known for their impeccable craftsmanship and panache for grandeur, designers from the Arab diaspora know how to create a fashion moment on the prestigious red carpet.
If you look back at the history of some of the most iconic Cannes outfits — that are evergreen in everyone’s memory, a substantial number of those couture pieces have been crafted by Arab designers.

From Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s gilded dreamy gown by Elie Saab in 2017 to Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ white ruffle wonder by Georges Hobeika from 2019 — Arab designers are masters when it comes to showcasing opulence with elegance.

This year is no different, many celebrities are walking the 76th Cannes Film Festival red carpet in veteran as well as new names from the Arab World. Whether it’s Rami Ali and Rami Kadi or newly emerging names like Geyanna Youness and Marmar Halim — Arab designers are leading the red carpet from the forefront.
