With healing being of utmost priority in a pandemic-struck world, Alexander McQueen’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection couldn’t have been released in a better time than now.
Romantically captured through lens by Paolo Roversi, its glorious forms were enamoured with Sarah Burton’s enigmatic vision for the collection, as she infused some of the most important elements of nature through each piece, whether the dramatic silhouettes or denim ensembles.
From lightweight knitted dresses to Victorian tailoring, the ballroom aura was felt through the Autumn Winter 21 collection, which is sure to make its wearer feel bold while exuding a certain charm. Anemones became an essential motif throughout the constructions, as its character portrays ‘radiant and strong’.
As exquisite patchwork with poly faille dominating the collection, covetable couture elements were brought to life in regal volumes with clinched structures at the waist for fashion that is practical yet sophisticated as the combined collection translates into a practical wardrobe.
Discussing the collection, Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen says, “It feels like now is a time for healing, for breathing new life, for exploring echoes from the past to enrich our future. More than ever, a sense of humanity, of the team working together with a single aim – to make something beautiful, something meaningful – feels both precious and important. We looked at water, for its healing properties, and at anemones.”
These works of art were beautifully complemented with chunky Chelsea boots or minimal sneakers, for all those muddy strolls through the dainty flower fields, with a post-pandemic vision of functional with practicality.
