Creative director Sarah Burton is back in Paris to present her newest collection for the house, which is clearly loved by Kate Middleton as she wears it on regular basis and had Burton design her wedding dress.
Fans of the brand will notice that Burton is a pro at celebrating the best of the natural world in her designs and being smart about the process. For SS20 she used upcycled lace, organza, and tulle from prior seasons. She also recycled or reinvented old patterns from both her and Alexander McQueen’s days. In addition she worked with teams in Ireland to create unique fabrics like beetler linen (linen is covered in potato starch and pounded on wood machine to give fabric a leather effect.) A lot of thought and process went into creating a collection that was not only stunning, but also conscious. Safe to say, we expect the same level of artisanal ingenuity tonight.
