Fashion’s favourite designer is back.
We missed Alber Elbaz and his intoxicating joyful personality. Ever since he departed Lanvin in 2015 we have been eagerly awaiting his return, and now he has re-emerged with a fun collaboration with Tod’s.
The capsule consists of shoes and leather goods conceived with purely happy thoughts and is aptly named “Tod’s Happy Moments by Alber Elbaz”. Designer’s starting point was the iconic and beloved Tod’s driving shoe, capturing and transforming its true spirit for the next generation.
The designer has always been known for thinking one step ahead, and here we see him transform the classic shoe style making them aerodynamic, bright, unstructured or mounted on sneaker soles, swarming in logos or not.
This is the second part of Tod’s “Factory” initiative, which sees the storied brand invite creatives to reimagine its DNA through capsule collections. Paris will be the first capital to get a dose of happiness until the capsule makes it to other boutiques through two different in-season drops.
A pair of shoes has always made us happy.
